Curated Consignment
The Big Question: Consignment, Buying, or Trade?
Great question — and the answer is: we do a little of everything, thoughtfully and with intention. At The Melrose Edit, our focus is keeping beautiful fashion in circulation while maintaining a highly curated, ever-evolving collection. Here’s how we approach it:
✨ Consignment:
We work with our curated consignors and a trusted network of dealers and sellers to bring in high-quality contemporary, vintage, and designer pieces. Consignment allows our inventory to change regularly, stay aligned with seasons and trends, and keep the shop feeling fresh every time you visit.
✨ Buying Outright (Selective):
We occasionally purchase items directly when they’re a strong fit for the boutique. This is offered on a case-by-case basis and depends on condition, brand, seasonality, and current store needs.
✨ Trade (Limited):
While we aren’t a trade-based shop, we sometimes offer store credit for exceptional pieces that align with our curated aesthetic.
Our goal is to honor the sustainability community, while maintaining a beautifully edited collection.
